Welcome to the Vertex Intel Sharing Community!

This community is designed as a place to discuss emerging threats, share insights, and collaborate toward the common defense. To make sure everyone is on the same page, everyone must review and accept the Vertex Intel Sharing Community Code of Conduct before being granted access. While lurkers are welcome, please consider contributing any relevant context you can provide. Sharing only works if enough people share. 🙂 We use the CISA Traffic Light Protocol (TLP) marking system to specify distribution and use restrictions on topics and IOCs discussed within the community. Please take a moment to familiarize yourself with the most up-to-date definitions from CISA.

The community is currently hosted in the #vertex-intel-sharing channel in the Synapse users slack. You may join the slack via: https://v.vtx.lk/slack. Please DO NOT directly invite people to the channel. Direct them to this page to request membership. Once you are added to the Slack channel, you will receive an email invite with a magic link to log into the Vertex Intel-Sharing Synapse Instance (VISI).

Vertex Intel Sharing Community Code of Conduct

Secrecy

  • Unless marked, every message shared with the community is implicitly shared as TLP:AMBER and may be used to implement detections and other operational safeguards for any community member’s employer and/or their customers.
  • Message marking should be used ( per post ) to raise/lower the default sharing restrictions. Begin your message with TLP:<COLOR> to denote the contents have a different distribution restriction.
  • Think before you over-classify! Marking things TLP:RED is safe, but who does that help?
  • If you have independent knowledge or context about any topics discussed, you are not restricted in your use or disclosure of your information as a result of having viewed similar context provided by another member.

Liability

  • All discussions (including automated responses) are assumed to be made in good faith. However, it is your responsibility to evaluate any advice or data before you make critical decisions or put them to use. ( If you break something, it’s on you. )

Membership

  • Membership is open to anyone who is willing to accept this code of conduct in good faith.
  • Violating the code of conduct, as determined by The Vertex Project (root@vertex.link), will result in the revocation of your membership.
  • Abusive behavior will not be tolerated. Be kind, we’re all on the same team.
